Alexa Residents are you aware of the Code Red system here in Sumter County? It is a free system to notify those signed up of emergencies in the local area. The notification can be sent to home phones and/or cell phones and I find it to be much more reliable than the weather radio. Even when the snow birds are back in their home state they will be notified of emergencies here in The Villages.
Sign up at the below web site or call the Sumter County Sheriff’s office. http://www.sumtercountysheriff.org/emergencymanagement/codered.asp
