SOCIAL-LITES 2011 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Jill Hausner -  President 

Jill  Hauser was born in Brooklyn, New York but grew up and spent most of her life on Long Island, NY. She married her high school sweetheart, Richie, in 1964 and they have 2 married sons and one granddaughter - all living in New York. 

Prior to having children, she was the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Advertising for Look Magazine.  Once her children were in grade school, Jill returned to the workforce and pursued a career in Human Resources.  Her last 15 years were spent working for an international telecommunications company as Director of Human Resources for North America and was lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel to Europe, Canada and around the U.S.  In 1996 her company asked her to relocate to Texas and in 2002 to move to Virginia.  She says it was hard to leave their kids but the experience of living first in the West and then the South turned out to be wonderful. 

While in Texas Jill served on the Board of their neighborhood association and in Virginia she helped to establish the Shalom Club.

She retired in 2005 and she and her husband discovered paradise and moved to The Villages. Jill enjoys golf, pickle ball and aerobics, Mah Jongg, meeting new people and being active in The Social-Lites.  Jill served as  committee member on the Social Committee for a year and then chaired the Social Committee for the Social-Lites for a year.

 

Jean (Regina) Jones - President Elect  (Vice President)

Jean was born December 1937 in Baltimore, MD. and graduated from Towson Catholic High School in 1956. She married her high school sweetheart in 1958 and spent the first 25 years of marriage raising their 4 sons. Then she went out working part time at a deli, then stocking stores with jewelry, a few years with American Greeting Cards and finally at a lawyer's office. Her husband Neil, retired from The Social Security Administration in, October, 1994 and they moved to Port Charlotte, FL in 1995. Neil passed away February, 1999. 
 
Jean has been blessed with 8 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, 5 great grandsons  and 1 great granddaughter. . . so far. Still five grandsons to marry and a couple of step grandchildren yet to graduate high school.
 
After her husband's death, Jean moved back to Maryland. About 3 years later, she started renting every winter in The Villages for 6 years and finally bought her villa April 2008. She says she is so happy here in Mallory Square. All her neighbors are so friendly. She has met so many nice people playing golf and just this year joined a bowling league and enjoys playing cards along with the golf and bowling. She very much enjoys the monthly socials with The Social-lites. She says she is looking forward to working with everyone on the Board.
 
Shelly Pfaff - Membership Chair Person
 

Shelley Pfaff is a life long resident of Toledo, Ohio, having graduated from Whitmer High School, and The University of Toledo with a degree in computer programming.   She worked as a programmer for 3 years.    She owned Rochelle's Fine Gifts, a fine gifts and collectibles store in Toledo, for 24 years, retiring in 2001.   She was very active in Women's American ORT, and the local public television station on-air auctions, as chairman of several committees.

 
Shelley has two sons.    Jason lives in Oakland, Ca, and is a professional poker player and dealer.   Eric is the Service Manager at Applebee's in Toledo.    Eric is the father of two adorable sons, Alex (10) and Benji (5).     They have been here to visit many times.     
 
Shelley, and her significant other of 14 years (Dan McCoy), moved to The Villages in 2006.  She was on the social committee for the Social-Lites for two years.     She is now busy with many actives, including a part time job as Distribution Manager of the POA Bulletin.   She also runs a weekly golf group, plays triple play, Mah Jongg, Pickle Ball, attends exercise classes, and enjoys all The Villages has to offer.   
Chris Coit  - Social Chair Person
Christine was born and raised in Connecticut.  She taught there before moving to Florida in 1980.  She returned to teaching in the Clearwater area and went to graduate school at the University of South Florida.  Christine held various positions in the Pinellas County School System, from teaching, to becoming an Instructional Specialist and a Behavioral Specialist.  She also worked as an Educational Diagnostician and was a district administrator in Exceptional Education during the 27 years she worked in that school system.

One of the more interesting things that happened to her while working between high schools as an Instructional Specialist was that another educator convinced her to go on a blind date with a friend she taught with.  That date was with Jack Coit, and Christine and Jack were married less than a year from that date.  Christine has two wonderful stepdaughters, a son-in-law and two grandsons.  Jack and Christine recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.

When visiting The Villages in 2007 it was love at first sight.  They purchased a home in 2008 and came up weekends.  They have since retired and have been enjoying their full time status for a bit over a year.

Christine and Jack enjoy socializing with friends and playing pickle ball.  They have recently taken up golf.  Christine also enjoys exercising with friends.  Jack plays on two division two softball teams as well as the Mallory Square neighborhood team.  He also assists with the Boys Varsity Basketball Team at the Villages High School.  Christine has enjoyed meeting many new friends on the Social Planning Committee and within the larger group of the Mallory Social-lites.
 

 

Rosalie Tomlinson - Delegate at Large

Rosalie is a New York City girl, born and bred in Flatbush, Brooklyn. She left the city after graduation from Brooklyn College with a degree in Elementary Education. After teaching for several years, she had her two children, Eric and Wendy. She lived in several parts of New York State and ended up in Atlanta, GA. She has worked as a teacher, researcher and travel agent. At present, she works part-time at Nantucket Bay in Sumter Landing. She has been very active in  Mallory's Social Committee for the last three years. She has resided in The Villages for almost eight years, the last five being in Mallory Square. Although she still works, she is a very active Villager. playing at golf, Mah Jongg and Triple Play weekly and squeezing in some exercise.

 

 

Janie Bozeman - Treasurer

Janie was born and raised in Chesapeake, VA.  She graduated from Deep Creek High School and went on to get an Associates in Business Administration from Old Dominion University.  Janie was very active in the Girls Service Organization (GSO) for the USO while attending college and served as President of the GSO. 

She started her career at General Electric Corporation in the Television Division where she spent 16 years.  She worked in both Human Resources and Marketing.  General Electric closed down the Television Division due to overseas imports and Janie went to work at MicroAge Computer stores with her boss from GE.  She worked at MicroAge for two years in sales and then spent 17 years at Norfolk Southern Corporation where she worked until she took early retirement April 1, 2006.  She worked in Intermodal Marketing, Merchandise Marketing and Transportation.   She spent her last few years as Staff Assistant to the Vice President of Human Resources. Some of her duties as Staff Assistant were to manage the tuition assistance program for the corporation, the scholarship program and the budget for the HR Department.

Janie met her husband Jerry in the fall of 1991 where they were both on the winter bowling league.  They married two years later and are now celebrating 17 wonderful years together.  Jerry also retired on April 1, 2006.  They had visited The Villages in 2001 and fell in love with it.  They came down and rented the winter of 2007, went home sold their home immediately and moved down here in May of 2007 as full time residents. 

Janie and Jerry are both avid golfers.  Janie also enjoys reading, exercising, cards and in general just spending time with their friends.   She and Jerry enjoy attending polo games, attending the Village High School football games and basketball games.

Janie is very much an organizer so she is looking forward to the position of Treasurer as well as serving on the social committee.
