Robin Hemsey and her husband, Neil moved
to The Villages in December, 2005 from Bluewater Bay, Florida,
where they had lived since 1998. Both Neil and Robin are
originally from Minnesota where they were born and raised. They
both lived all their lives in the Lake Minnetonka area, a
particularly beautiful area about 25 miles west of Minneapolis.
They have one son, Brian, who still lives in the area.Robin taught primary grades for 33 years, mostly first grade. She particularly enjoyed helping children become readers and watching the light bulbs go on as children made new discoveries. She served as an Early Childhood Reading and Math Consultant for the Archdiocese of Minneapolis/St. Paul for several years before retiring in 1998. She and Neil first moved to the Panhandle of Florida where they pursued their recreational pursuits of sailing and gardening. Robin was active in the Bluewater Bay Garden Club and served as president 2000-2002. She was also active in The Women's Club serving on the Education Committee and Relay For Life team. Now that they have moved to The Villages Robin wants to take fun "seriously". So she decided to join the Red Hat Society. Discovering that many of her new neighbors had the same idea, Robin decided to start a new chapter and became the Queen Mum of the Red Hat NVs of Natalie Villas. She and the rest of her "Ladies" plan on participating in many fun activities and outings together and with other Red Hat Ladies in The Villages.
