Mallory Square Travel Club

now called Journey of Discovery

We are the Mallory Square Travel Club which meets monthly and has a presentation on a selected travel topic. Members are encouraged to share their travel experiences with the group and new travel ideas are presented, as the group wishes.

The group is led by Mallory Square residents Lee & Judy LeFaivre

Judy and Lee

who have a combined 22 years as travel agents and are the owners of Where in the World Travel. Jay Burckle participates with one day trip information as well.

The purpose of the club is for travel lovers to share information, learn from each other, and enjoy new travel experiences.

The travel club was reinvented over the summer.  It is now called Journeys of Discovery.  Here is an overview:

Journeys of Discovery meets the second Monday of each month at Lake Miona Recreation Center at 3:00 PM.  The purpose of the club is to learn and talk about travel opportunities that are a little different from the ordinary.  The first meeting was in October and the topic was Coastal Cruising in North America which featured information about 4 companies that sail the east coast of the US.

The November meeting was about Expedition Travel.  We focused on Antarctica, The Galapagos, and The Amazon.  We had a guest speaker from International Expeditions who did an in depth presentation on Amazon and Galapagos.

In December (Monday Dec 8) we will be discussing Cultural Travel (art, history and music).  Watch the Recreation News for upcoming meetings and topics.
